There are times when we need to explore some growth & healing work. Thankfully the ability to grow & heal is built into our human-nature, a nature that comes alive when receiving the support we need. Therapy is for receiving this support, and in a way that fits with you. And so I trust in this: Creating in your own expressive way a better life is what I know you are able—and meant—to do. Supporting you in discovering this for yourself will be a heartfelt privilege for me.

I am trauma-attachment focused and informed. I am trained in: EMDR by Curtis C. Rouanzoin, Ph.D. under EMDR Institute, Inc., & EMDRIA; Emotion-Focused Therapy (couples) by Susan Johnson, PhD; Mindfulness Meditation practitioner and teacher trained and certified by Tibet House, USA.

I am experienced in the field of mental health with over 20 years experience at the public health level, and several on the front lines as a therapist. I am trained in evidenced-based techniques. My approach: Unconditional positive regard, humanist, and attachment- focused care. You can expect from me: Honesty, empathy, and an ally.

Making Therapy Affordable and Accessible.

One of the greatest barriers to therapy is cost.  My background is in public health, and access to care has always been a fundamental principle of my work in mental health.  In many cases there are therapists available, but access is limited by cost.  I might be able to afford the therapist who charges $150 hourly the first time, and maybe even the second time, but for many people this $150 will become a barrier to therapy, and often causes people to stop coming to therapy.  Cost of therapy can also aggravate an existing problem like anxiety, depression, or relationship issues for a couple or family.  Why would a therapist want to make situations worse?

For these reasons, I have chosen to offer psychotherapy on a sliding scale.

When you call for an appointment, let’s discuss what you can afford now, and work toward creating a relationship where you feel comfortable telling me what works for you.
